"New Wave" on Ukrainian Way in Brighton
During its year in the Brighton area, the Ukrainian Studies School "Nova Khvilka" became an active participant in events that vividly represent Ukrainian culture. A Ukrainian community is forming around the school. From the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion of our Motherland, the school became a volunteer center for humanitarian and medical aid in Ukraine. American media outlets used the school to do their reports and interviews when they wanted to hear from Ukrainians about the war that Muscovy started against Ukraine.
On the 31st anniversary of Ukraine's Independence Day, when the sign Ukrainian Way was installed at the intersection of Brighton Ave and Coney Island Ave, it was the students of the Ukrainian Studies School "Nova Khvylka" with flags and pennants in their hands who performed the anthem of Ukraine here, and drew attention to this event with their participation.
