The Ukrainian Studies School "New Wave" is starting its 9th academic year. Since the first day of its establishment in 2016, the number of children at the school has increased more than 6 times. Many children were born here, in the USA, to parents who arrived 10-15 years ago. But over the past two years, many children have also enrolled in the school who were forced to leave their homeland, fleeing the terrible Russian-Ukrainian war - from explosions and sirens, which are terrifying in the East and the West. For newly arrived children, the Ukrainian Studies School is a center of their home, where everyone speaks a language they understand. The school helps them maintain their identity, and also facilitates adaptation to the American environment. New friends appear with whom it is interesting and safe.
