The celebration of the Day of Reunification at the Ukrainian Institute of America in New York was also a good opportunity to express gratitude to the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Serhiy Kyslytsa, for his significant contribution to the struggle for Ukrainian interests on the diplomatic front and for his excellent cooperation with the community. Among the speakers at the reception were the heads of the Metropolitan Opera and the Carnegie Hall, who told how, thanks to Ambassador S. Kyslytsa and the First Secretary of the Mission, Yaroslav Sochka, from the first days of the full-scale invasion, they became participants in cultural diplomacy in support of Ukraine. Students and teachers of our school of Ukrainian studies “Nova Khvylka” were also repeatedly invited to concert programs in these world-famous halls.

And the meetings with Ambassador Kyslytsia of high school students at school, at the UN headquarters, who told them that they were also ambassadors of Ukraine in their American schools, in their peer communities, were perceived by them as instructions for active activity. The words to the community, to the refugees at the festivals in Brooklyn, organized by the “New Ukrainian Wave” and the school, inspired, united with the Motherland in joint work for Victory.

Soon, Mr. Ambassador will leave his post as Head of the Mission of Ukraine to the UN to take up an equally important one in Kyiv. The term of office of the First Secretary and Ms. Yaroslava Sochka, who was the best “liaison” between the Ambassador and the community, is coming to an end. Thank you!
