On August 27, an Art Rally was held on the grounds of the GuardianAngel Roman Catholic Church on Ocean Parkway to celebrate the 31st anniversary of Ukraine's Independence.

Two months before that, in May, at the end of the 2021-2022 academic year, a Ukrainian charity festival was held here for the first time, organized by the "Nova Khvylka" school and its founder, the "Nova Ukrainian Khvylya" NGO.

As in May, our honored guests were the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Serhiy Kyslytsia, the Consul General of Ukraine in New York Oleksiy Holubov, and Andriy Dobryansky from the Ukrainian Congressional Committee of America.

Part of the art program was prepared by children and their educators from the Summer Camp organized by the New Ukrainian Wave organization for refugee children, who spent two months here in their native Ukrainian-speaking environment.

Among the honored guests this time was Assemblywoman Motilda Frontus. She presented the school principal, Myroslava Rozdolska, with a Certificate of Appreciation for her active leadership in the life of the Ukrainian community of Brooklyn.

This time, the main participants in the artistic gathering were newcomers - refugees from Ukraine, who were moved by the atmosphere of little Ukraine here, far from their native land.
