The holiday "Autumn in a Viburnum Bead" was colorful and full of impressions, which took place at the Ukrainian Studies School "Nova Khvylka" in Brooklyn. On November 5, parents of schoolchildren studying on Neptune Ave were delighted with a wonderful concert program, and on November 12 - on Bath Ave. On this day, Bishop of Stamford, Vladyka Pavlo Khomnytsky, accompanied by the priest of the Mission Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Father Roman Malyarchuk, visited the school. And for the first time, Assemblyman William Colton, in whose electoral district the school is located, was a guest of the school. Counselman Ari Kogan also found time to visit our school that day. High school students Evelina Vyshyvanyuk and Zlat Dovgan greeted the honored guests with a wonderful loaf of bread on an embroidered towel.

The festive program began with the anthem of Ukraine, which was performed by all the school students, pleasantly surprising the guests with their wonderful polyphony. Opening the program, the school director Myroslava Rozdolska briefly spoke about the activities of the school, which grows and develops every year. The President of the School Council Anna Shpuk, in her speech, emphasized the needs of the Ukrainian community of Brooklyn in the creation of the Ukrainian Educational and Cultural Center.

Bishop Pavlo blessed and congratulated the children, parents, and teachers. Assemblyman William Colton expressed his solidarity with the Ukrainian people, who are defending democratic values around the world in the war against terrorist Russia, and assured that he would support the school and the Ukrainian community of Brooklyn in every way.

Junior and middle school students sang and performed as if at an autumn bazaar. And although the concert program lasted almost two hours, our guests did not leave the hall until the very end. Among the guests was also the head of one of the democratic clubs in Brooklyn, Angela Kravchenko, who has repeatedly initiated interesting programs for children and no less important meetings with politicians of various levels.
