Guests of the "New Ukrainian Wave"
On Saturday, January 28, the All-American public organization “New Ukrainian Wave” together with the School Council “New Wave”, headed by Anna Shpuk, organized a Social and Information Platform (Community ResourceFair) in Brooklyn. The meeting of high school students with Ukrainian soldiers who are undergoing rehabilitation and prosthetics and live on Staten Island, NY, was touching. It was for them that the student Nativity Scene, together with the People’s Artist of Ukraine Ostap Stakhiv, collected $5,000 with their carol singing in churches and public places. This Saturday, Viktor Kobets, originally from the Kirovohrad region, 25 years old, and Oleksiy Machakra, originally from Mariupol, arrived at the school and talked with the students. Both were wounded during the liberation of Kherson, as was Mykola Zarytskyi from Sumy, who is also currently here for rehabilitation and with two other brothers, Roman Los and Maksym Kryvonos. All these young guys came at the invitation of the KindDeeds NGO and in particular its head and organizer of the rehabilitation program, Oleksandr Rubtsov. On this day, the students donated $500 for each of them, and $2,500 for the KindDeeds NGO, which brought them for treatment. Yesterday, three of them returned to Ukraine with their prostheses. We are glad that we were able to support them.
