The "Angels Hold the Sky" festival united the community to help the defenders of Ukraine

The "Angels Hold the Sky" festival in Brooklyn raised $14,000 for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, combining art, prayer, and gratitude to the soldiers. A joint initiative of the "New Ukrainian Wave", the "Nova Khvylka" school, and cultural partners, it demonstrated the strength of the Ukrainian community abroad.

The Angels Hold the Sky festival, organized by the New Ukrainian Wave and the New Wave Ukrainian Studies School in Brooklyn, became a symbol of joy, support, and remembrance of the war in Ukraine. The event raised $14,000 in net proceeds, which will go to the needs of the defenders.


Songs, dances, and words of gratitude were heard on stage, and the guests were musicians from the Cultural Landing from Ukraine, who came on a mission of gratitude. The community also prayed together with the Union of Ukrainian Women of America on International Children's Day.

The festival got its name from the exhibition of children's drawings “Angels Hold the Sky” sent by the “One for One” foundation. The event was supported by sponsors: “Samopomich” Credit Union and Ukrainian National Federal Credit Union.


An important distinction was the presentation of a Certificate from Assemblyman William Colton for his contribution to the community. And good news came from Ukraine: thanks to the $5,500 raised through Blue Sky Ukraine, the heart of Justynka, the daughter of a military man, was saved.


Together we are strong. Glory to Ukraine!
